I have read: ZERO

How many have YOU read?

Frailin' on the banjer

Here's a low quality video of me frailing on my new Banjo. I've got a long way to go, but I seem to be progressing pretty fast, which is nice. I'm sure I'll hit a wall soon enough. Anyway, here I am:

Shorpy

This is one of my favourite websites:

Shorpy

It is a historic photographic archive and I find it endlessly fascinating. The images are beautiful. But, hey, I'm a sucker for any photography at a distance from my own experiences.

Similarly, Superbomba is a doozy. Other entries can be found here.
The Kids in the Hall Season 1

Over Christmas I watched the first season of late 80's/early '90s Canadian sketch show The Kids in the Hall which I used to tape off late night BBC2 when I was about 15. It's hit and miss, as most sketch comedy is, but there are several great moments. Here's some of my favourites:

Running Faggot

Indian Drum

Bass Player

By way of hope...

Here is a little thing my friend at U Chicago sent me. Appropriately pretentious, yet unrefined:

My favorite so far; "the ideology of synethesia reinforces the divisibility of the master-slave dialectic."

Good stuff.

On things that leak...

I saw this comic awhile back, and thought I might share it.
Boundaries, I ask? Just how free do you like your freedom of information? Intellectually, I'm all for it, at least on the levels of government and industry. Personally, I like a little secrecy from time to time. You know what I do? I don't publish everything about myself online. That seems to help.

Hey all. This isn't much of a post, but I thought I'd put up this video because it's awesome. Enjoy!

This is The Core Group Colloquium

So. This is The Core Group Colloquium.

To Post, you must be Core Group. Which means, essentially, that you are one of eight people, seven of whom already blog on this here website. They (they being the figurative imaginary creatures of analogy and example that we all use when making crap up) sometimes say that to get anywhere in this life, you have to go to the right school, make the right friends, and sleep with the right people. In this case, this is absolutely correct. To be a member of the Core Group, you have to have gone to a particular university, at a particular time, and make the right friends. Alternatively, you have to be the long term partner of one of said particular individuals. As such, if you didn't already know that you were Core Group, then you probably aren't. Which is a shame, as i'm sure you're lovely.

And yet, in theory, you could be. The identity of the eighth Core Group member remains a mystery - as one of the long term partner slots remains open. Applications from eligible heterosexual females wishing to be considered for this slot should be forwarded to PO Box 786998865, in the fictional world where, y'know, they exist.

But, lest all this talk of Core Groups and Post Office Boxes prove utterly disillusioning, never forget that:

To Comment, you only need to have a keyboard, opposable thumbs, and be registered or something of the sort. So do that.

And try not to be accidentally racist or anything...
