Of COURSE Franco should play Ginsburg, as he is both a talented and successful movie actor AND has an English Lit degree with top honours from Columbia. Oh my God how I hate that guy.
Of course Burroughs was much better than Ginsburg:
'So we... start for New Orleans past iridescent lakes and orange gas flares, and swamps and garbage heaps, alligators crawling around in broken bottles and tin cans, neon arabesques of motels, marooned pimps scream obscenities at passing cars from islands of rubbish... New Orleans is a dead museum.'
Yeah, James Franco is amazing, but he threatens every aspect of my masculine identity. Bastard.
I don't know that I'd say Burroughs was better. Burroughs was incredibly influential and generally is considered the primary mover of the Beat Generation, but I really just prefer Ginsburg's poetry.

My mom asked, "That's not a scary movie, is it?"
ReplyDeleteLove her.
